Always hungry, the preying burrower hunts living creatures. Like bears that fancy honey, preying burrowers salivate over gray matter.

Dense bone plates give these rapacious brutes an armored, armadillolike appearance, though their heads look far more bestial and terrifying -- almost dragonlike. Their tongues are horrors of agility with a drill-like bit on the very tip, perfect for penetrating the brainpan of any creature they can grab with their teeth or claws. A preying burrower stands on two legs, about 8 feet tall despite its stooped posture. It weighs more than 3,500 lbs.

COMBAT
A preying burrower attacks for food, usually to eat the brain mass it hungers for. When hunting, it sometimes attempts to hide partially buried in the earth, patiently waiting to ambush prey.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, the preying burrower must hit with its bite or claw attack.

Brain Drill (Ex): A preying burrower that gets a hold latches onto the opponent's body and attempts to penetrate the victim's skull with its drill-like tongue. This attack automatically deals 3d6+10 points of damage. When the opponent is dead, the creature laps out the brain and eats it on the following round.

Psionics (Sp): At will 3/day -- body adjustment, freedom of movement, dimension door.

Skills: Preying burrowers receive a +4 racial bonus to Spot checks. When hiding half underground, they receive a +8 circumstance bonus to Hide checks.
