The Real Dragon Magic Names

Illus. Kyle AndersonI wrote an article for Dragon magazine, published in issue #208, all about Dragon Magic. It expounds on the topic of Dragon Magic presented in Book of Eldritch Might III: The Nexus. Unfortunately, the editors decided to take off the cool draconic names of the spells. So I'm including them here, along with a draconic dictionary based on these names and those found in Book of Eldritch Might III.

A Draconic Dictionary
Based on the spell names found here and in Book of Eldritch Might III, we can gather the following Draconic vocabulary:

Abu: A prefix meaning armor (specifically natural armor or scales).
Adon: Form.
Adul: Aura.
Adulese: Serpent.
Ar: Of (used only rarely).
Arctaos: Friendship
Arthonath: Human, or of humanity.
Ashne: To share.
Aurthon: Correct. To be fitting.
Cadilan: Pact or agreement.
Chaun: To spit out.
Cuigna: To consume.
Denthanus: Terror.
Desta: Greater or better.
Detoim: To guide.
Diabolich: Diabolic. Belonging to or pertaining to a devil.
Dos: Wall.
Duil: One's lair or abode.
Epanomis: Place, particularly a favored place
Facorol: To make more dangerous.
Fal: Unstoppable.
Farshan: Wreath or halo.
Fedelom: Steal.
Ferrod: Golden.
Fethos: Shield.
Fortorum: Familiarity.
Garris: Appearance.
Gul: Cold.
Haddross: To burden or encumber.
Harroc: Hunter.
Iba: Prefix meaning fiery.
Ilrosos: Roses.
Indelstan: Energy, particularly natural energy as in a breath weapon (as opposed to "magi" or magical energy.
Ingis: To spray.
Jisgus: Disguise.
Kaden: Cloud.
Kevessa: Spines (as in thorns).
Kornari: Heart.
Lasau: To summon.
Madeec: Mind.
Magi: Magical energy.
Mar: A prefix meaning death or something deadly. Something to be feared or dreaded.
Nar: To strike (with a claw).
Noness: To slip between.
Nuade: Ward or protection.
Oden: Identify or mark.
Osh: A syllable, when placed within the middle of the word, that means "the opposite of" turning the word into its own opposite.
Pab: Water.
Portam: Gate.
Pretur: Horde. Treasure.
Ressan: Ally.
Ro: Eternal or everlasting.
Sart: Small.
Sepa: Soul.
Shochraos: Lightning.
Terad: Arrow.
Tobor: Life (particularly as in, to give life).
Toma: Sight.
Tomosha: Without sight.
Vebren: To roar.
Versilius: To fly.
Vessa: To steal.
Vestorimin: The proper name of a famous good dragon.
Vorpam: Vorpal.
Yarchonis: Keep away from.
