Sorry, no update
today, everyone. We're working on something really big for next
week, though, so check back in with us then!

So now that
Election Day has come and gone, we can get to something more important,
like the opening day of The Incredibles! Until then, we've
got a bunch of stuff for you.
Mike's written
a new installment in his Setting the Stage series, "Damaging
Terrain." Look for it now in DMs Only.
And
Mike's magic sourcebook Mystic Secrets:
The Lore of Word and Rune is now available in print from
your local game store! To celebrate the release, Mike's given us
a cool web enhancement this week in The Stuff.
While Mystic Secrets offers a lot of information about beneficial
ceremonies, this web enhancement discusses rituals of cursing, called
maledictions, and offers a few samples. You can find out more about
Mystic Secrets right here in our sneak
peek, art gallery, table
of contents, press release,
chat
transcript, and hounds of
annihilation web enhancement. Mike also discusses his work on
the book in his Design Diary. I hope
you check it out!
Also on sale
now is The Banewarrens in Italian. Called Saepta Malevolentiae,
this translation is available as a traditional or secure PDF from
our online vendors. Find out more on our product
page.
Meanwhile, Ptolus
fans, your patience has paid off: I've crafted another episode of
the ongoing campaign story. There are only a few more until we reach
the climactic finale!
I
had a great time on Mortality Radio last week discussing Planescape
and Beyond Countless Doorways
with two of my co-authors, Wolfgang Baur and Colin McComb. You can
listen to the hourlong interview by downloading show 0067 from
their site.
I've written
a Line of Sight about one of my four favorite
seasons, autumn. And lastly, for a change of pace, you can read
an interview with Sue and the Dragonlance: Fifth Age design
team right now at the Dragonlance
Nexus.

Well, things
have gotten back to normal around here. We're working on putting
together Arcana Evolved,
and you'll hear more about what's going into that book in the coming
weeks.
This
week we've got a new Design Diary from
Mike Mearls that takes us behind the scenes to discuss the creation
of the maneuver subsystem in The Book
of Iron Might, his new combat sourcebook. By the way, d20
Magazine Rack has just posted a review of the book. Take
a look!
We also have
part two of Mike's "Setting the Stage" article series
that offers advice for constructing interesting and fun encounters.
This week's installment in DMs
Only focuses on the creative uses (and inadvertent abuses) of
concealment.
If you haven't
seen Beyond Countless Doorways
yet, our October hardcover release is in stores now. This book was
a Planescape® reunion of sorts, as I wrote it with my
fellow Planescapers Wolfgang Baur, Ray Vallese, and Colin
McComb, and Planescape artist rk post created the cover.
To find out more about the book, check out our chat
transcript, web
enhancement, art gallery,
and table of contents. We also
have a cool trailer and sneak
peeks at the titanic
cromungi and the plane of Kin-Li'in.
To celebrate
the book's print release, my coauthors and I have come up with a
list of 101 Planar Adventure Ideas. Don't miss it in The
Stuff.
Happy Halloween,
everyone!
