Monte
Cook Gives You Even More Evil in Demon
God's Fane
August
31, 2001 (Renton, Wash.) -- After making a Return to
the Temple of Elemental Evil, Monte Cook, codesigner
of the new edition of the Dungeons & Dragons
game, creates a vile new cult in Demon God's Fane,
the first adventure from his Malhavoc Press.
For
just $5, fans of the d20 System can now buy Monte's new
36-page adventure for 14th-level characters, which uses
spells, classes, feats, and items from Malhavoc's award-winning
arcane sourcebook The Book of Eldritch Might. Demon
God's Fane comes as a full-color, illustrated PDF
file with a bonus plain-text version for easy printing.
The
Demon God's Fane is a name so old and so obscure that
most people no longer remember the terror and the evil
it represents. Now, something has slithered its way into
the village of Golden Lake, and into the minds and souls
of the villagers. Can the old temple to the demon prince
Ochremeshk still be a threat after so long? How can it
be stopped when the Fane's location remains lost in plain
sight? Fans can sample previews of the art and an encounter
from the adventure free at Malhavoc's
website.
Monte
launched Malhavoc Press in May with the publication of
The Book of Eldritch Might, which this summer won
three EN World d20 System Awards for excellence, voted
on by the fans. Malhavoc's website promises a third release,
The Book of Eldritch Might II: Songs and Souls of Power,
in late January, plus an undisclosed surprise to come
later this year. Monte's other forthcoming titles include
Beyond the Veil from Atlas Games, d20 Call of
Cthulhu from Wizards of the Coast, and Queen of
Lies from Fiery Dragon Productions.
Hallmarks
of Malhavoc Press and Monte Cook's game design include
unusual magic, monsters, and evocative elements that go
beyond traditional fantasy, as well as a mastery of the
d20 System rules that only one of the game's original
designers can offer. All current Malhavoc Press titles
are available in electronic format exclusively at <www.montecook.com>.
Print versions will follow from Sword & Sorcery, beginning
with The Book of Eldritch Might in November.
