FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Malhavoc Publishes First d20 Psionics Title

Illus. Kieran YannerBruce Cordell's If Thoughts Could Kill Now Available Online

November 30, 2001 (Renton, Wash.) --The first d20 psionics support product, If Thoughts Could Kill, is released today in electronic format, Malhavoc Press founder Monte Cook is pleased to announce.

In this companion piece to the popular Psionics Handbook, player characters find themselves caught up a world-shaking event: the awakening of the Crystal Consciousness. In addition, fully one-third of this accessory/adventure details all-new rules from Bruce R. Cordell, the designer who brought you the official psionics cap system. Inside If Thoughts Could Kill, you'll find:

* A full-length adventure for 10th-level player characters
* New psionic monsters -- including the psionic lich and a new PC race
* Lots of new items, powers, and even an all-new psionic prestige class
* The new discipline of Psychonecromancy and other variant rules
* More than 300 new powers converted from spells in the Player's Handbook and The Book of Eldritch Might

"I really appreciate the incredible interest the fans have shown in If Thoughts Could Kill," said Bruce. "I anticipate that this book will make a solid contribution to the psionics rules set, and I hope everyone has a great time with the adventure."

Priced at just $5, If Thoughts Could Kill comes as a full-color, 44-page, illustrated PDF file with a plain-text version for easy printing. Fans can sample previews of the art and text free at this website.

Born in Watertown, S.D., Bruce Cordell holds a degree in Environmental, Population, and Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado. While working as a Research Associate in process chemistry he learned to synthesize DNA, but he couldn't resist the call of game design. In 1995, after a few years as a freelancer and designer of online text-generated virtual worlds, he abandoned science for a designer position at TSR (now Wizards of the Coast). His design credits include The Sunless Citadel, Heart of Nightfang Spire, and the Origins Award-winning Return to the Tomb of Horrors. Bruce lives in Seattle, Wash., with his wife Dee and their five cats. He is hard at work on his first novel. To read more about him, visit <www.brucecordell.com >.
