Malhavoc Press Joins Sword & Sorcery:
[ A Note from Monte ]

Yes, that's right, Malhavoc is joining forces with Sword & Sorcery. No, that wasn't the plan from the beginning, but trust me when I say this is a really exciting thing to happen.

Here's the deal: S&S, in my estimation, was clearly becoming a real bastion of quality for d20 products. As those of you that have read my reviews know, about the only thing that's impressed me more than Relics & Rituals and the more recent Necromancer Games products (S&S's first affiliated studio) was Fiery Dragon Productions' most recent products. And Fiery Dragon is now a part of the Sword & Sorcery "family" too.

So when I was asked to join with these quality publishers, I was really flattered. This would be a great way for me to get Malhavoc products out to a lot more readers, with a logo on the cover that people recognize as a sign of quality (rather than getting lost in the shuffle of new d20 independent publishers). And it allows me to get print products out to you without having to direct any of my attention away from what I know: writing and designing game products. Sword & Sorcery gets to deal with the printing, warehousing, shipping, and all that. Sounds perfect to me.

Here's the scoop on the deal that I've worked out: Malhavoc will continue to release online products. These products will follow much the same format you've seen with The Book of Eldritch Might -- low-priced PDFs you can purchase straight from me. Then, a few months later, that product will come out in print to your local game or book store, with brand-new art, a cool cover, and all the high-quality production values that you've seen in other Sword & Sorcery products.

Thus, with every Malhavoc product, you'll have a choice. You can get it sooner (and cheaper) as a PDF, or -- if you prefer print products -- you can buy the latter version as a great-looking (and still reasonably priced) book. Either way, it's still a product straight from me. Malhavoc Press does all the writing, development, and editing for all versions of the products. The Malhavoc Press logo will be on all versions -- I'll still own the material and will be invested to work hard to maintain the high level of quality that you've hopefully already come to expect.

If you liked The Book of Eldritch Might, keep your eyes open for The Demon God's Fane, a 32-page adventure utilizing the rules, spells, and items from that book. It should come out in late August as a PDF product, available at www.montecook.com.

Thanks for being a Malhavoc patron.
