Malhavoc
Press Nets 3 ENnie Nominations!

The
nominations are in for this year's Gen Con & EN World
d20 System Awards, and Malhavoc Press is proud to announce
that If Thoughts Could Kill
and MONTECOOK.com have been recognized!
If
Thoughts Could Kill by Bruce R. Cordell was one of five
products nominated for Best Adventure. It was also
among the nominees for Best Interior Art, thanks
to a terrific job by illustrator Kieran Yanner.
Designed by the Unseelie Court and produced by Monte and
Sue Cook, our website MONTECOOK.com numbered among the nominees
for Best Official Website as well.
Monte
also earned a nomination in the Best d20 Game category
for the Call
of Cthulhu d20 Roleplaying Game from Wizards of
the Coast.
We're
particularly pleased to see If Thoughts Could Kill recognized
this year. It went up for sale as a PDF the week Wizards
opened the d20 psionics rules, making it the very first
3rd Edition d20 psionics support title published. Bruce
R. Cordell, who also authored the Psionics Handbook,
did a terrific job! You've seen lots of other cool products
bearing his name as well: The Epic Level Handbook, Manual
of the Planes, The Sunless Citadel, Tome and Blood, Heart
of Nightfang Spire, and Return to the Tomb of Horrors,
all from Wizards of the Coast.
Kieran
Yanner says he has always been interested in art, roleplaying
games, and the fantasy/sci-fi genre. Taking as an example
such artists as Jim Lee, Diterlizzi, and Brom, Kieran began
shaping his style long before he ever thought he would actually
become a professional illustrator. From Decipher to Malhavoc
Press, White Wolf to Dream Pod 9, Kieran has produced hundreds
of illustrations for the RPG industry, both covers and interiors.
Kieran still considers himself a neonate to illustration
and has a modest opinion of his artwork -- he says there's
always something he can improve upon and people he can learn
from.
Visit
the awards'
site at EN World for the full list of nominations. While
you're there, you might also note that Malhavoc Press shows
up as "honorable mention" for Best Cartography
(If Thoughts Could Kill), Best Rules Supplement (Book
of Eldritch Might II: Songs and Souls of Power),
and Best Publisher!
The
public voting has now ended. Awards will be presented at
Gen Con on Friday, August 9, and it is sure to be a tough
competition.
Thanks
to the EN World judges -- and all you voters! -- for your
support of Malhavoc Press!
