and Monte Win at the ENnies!

If
Thoughts Could Kill won the Best Adventure award
at the 2002 Gen Con & EN World d20 System awards, and
Call
of Cthulhu d20 Roleplaying Game
netted the Best d20 RPG award at a presentation held Friday
night at Gen Con.
Bruce
Cordell, author of If Thoughts Could Kill, couldn't
make it to Gen Con this year, but he was elated when Sue
called him from the ceremony with the news. (He later said
it was pretty hard to hear the exact news with all the background
noise, but it sounded good, so he took a guess.)
Monte
accepted the
Call of Cthulhu d20
award on behalf of the entire design team and Wizards of
the Coast. The book also received the award for Best Graphic
Presentation, thanks to fabulous work by the illustrators
and art director Dawn Murin.
We're
particularly pleased to see If Thoughts Could Kill recognized
this year. It went up for sale as a PDF the week Wizards
opened the d20 psionics rules, making it the very first
3rd Edition d20 psionics support title published. Bruce
R. Cordell, who also authored the Psionics Handbook,
did a terrific job! You've seen lots of other cool products
bearing his name as well: The Epic Level Handbook, Manual
of the Planes, The Sunless Citadel, Tome and Blood, Heart
of Nightfang Spire, and Return to the Tomb of Horrors,
all from Wizards of the Coast.
If
Thoughts Could Kill was also among the nominees for
Best Interior Art, thanks to a terrific job by illustrator
Kieran Yanner. Designed by the Unseelie Court and produced
by Monte and Sue Cook, our website MONTECOOK.com was nominated
for Best Official Website as well. Malhavoc Press received
"honorable mention" for Best Cartography (If
Thoughts Could Kill), Best Rules Supplement (Book
of Eldritch Might II: Songs and Souls of Power),
and Best Publisher.
Thanks
to all of you for voting for If
Thoughts Could Kill and Call of Cthulhu!
Your continued support means so much to us. We just hope
we can keep on producing more of the great products you
want to see.
