If Thoughts Could Kill Errata and Clarifications

Illus. The Unseelie CourtThanks to everyone who's written in with comments on If Thoughts Could Kill, especially Prince "PsiSeveredHead" Elcock. Your eagle eyes have helped us develop this list of errata points and clarifications. The information below has all been incorporated into the versions of If Thoughts Could Kill currently available for sale or preorder. A patch is available as well, for PC and Mac users who have already bought the PDF.

Throughout the book, all references to "illithid" should refer instead to "mind flayer." Illithid is a protected term owned by Wizards of the Coast and is not actually in the System Reference Document. Silly us.

p.4 -- In Bayla Hex's stat block, "9d4+9" should be "9d4+12".
p.5 -- In Bindlebuck's stat block, "8d4+32" should be "8d4+35".
p.5 -- In Cehvat's stat block, "ranger" should be abbreviated "Rgr," and the following text was missing: Possessions: +2 battleaxe, +1 handaxe, +1 chain shirt.

p.8 -- In her stat block, Zelestine should be listed as a "Medium Outsider," not a "Medium humanoid." Her AC should read "AC 22 (touch 13, flat-footed 19)." She has the "Inner Strength" feat, not "Inner Power," and she has the "Knowledge (psionics)" skill. In her Racial Traits section, "emulate Exotic Weapon Proficiency (greatsword)" should be instead "emulate +2 ranks to Knowledge (psionics)." She has discovered the "combat prescience" power (not simply "prescience").

pp. 10-11 -- Ellyn's stat block should reflect that she also has these Psionics (Sp): At will powers-- remote view, remote view trap.
p. 13 -- The Taphos has "scent," not "blindsight."
p. 14 -- Tulmercy's alignment is NE, not N, and in his Battle Preparations, he enjoys a +4 haste bonus, not a Dodge bonus.

p. 20 -- In the stats for the two kureshim, "1d6/18-20, rapier" should be "1d6, quarterstaff".
p. 21 -- In the second bullet point under "Creatures," the phrase "Many who served Rulwar" should refer instead to the Emperor.
p. 21 -- In Rulwar's Battle Preparations, the "+4 Dodge bonus" should be a "+4 haste bonus," and his Psionic Fist inflicts 1d4 damage, not 1d6.

p. 23 -- The fusillade of spears trap fires 1d6 spears/round.
p. 26 The Azure Emperor's stat block should indicate that his Psionic Focus and Great Psionic Focus feats apply to the Metacreativity discipline, and that his Psicrystal is "Sympathetic."
p. 27 -- For the new discipline of Telepathy, Mind-Flayerkin, mind flayers who take the psion class now manifest those powers at a power point cost equal to 1 less than normal.

p. 32 -- Damage reduction from the Chrysalis increases at these levels: 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, etc.
p. 33 -- Id cascade should be listed as "Telepathy (Cha) [Death, Mind-Affecting]." A target's saving throw on the third round is assessed a -4 circumstance penalty.
p. 33 -- The relevant ability to Psychoportation for the power probability mantle is Dexterity, not Intelligence.
p. 34 --You cannot use a single manifestation of the power psianimate dead to animate more HD of undead than you have manifester levels plus 5.

p. 35 -- In the variant rule sidebar, your psion begins play knowing three 0-level powers (also called talents) of your choice and one 1st-level power, plus one extra power within his primary discipline.
p. 39 -- The converted 2nd-level power enhance magical (psionic) flow offers +1 to power save DCs.
p. 41 -- The converted 4th-level power greater magical (psionic) flow enhancement offers +2 to power save DCs.
p. 43 -- The 3rd-level psychic warrior power dragonskin is converted from The Book of Eldritch Might.
