Upgrade for The Book of Eldritch Might
This
is an upgrade only, for those who have previously purchased
The
Book of Eldritch Might.
Malhavoc Press has created an updated version of the electronic
(PDF) edition of The Book
of Eldritch Might. The new version, which updates
the book to be compatible with v. 3.5 of the d20 System
rules, is now for sale. Those of you who have already bought
The Book of Eldritch Might PDF can purchase this
low-cost upgrade to update your copy to the new version!
This upgrade, for Windows users only, is just a file that
you download, unzip, and then execute. You'll be asked where
your copy of The Book of Eldritch Might is, and then
it will automatically change your PDF copy of the book to
reflect the changes. (You might be told that the time stamp
on your PDF doesn't match, but don't worry, it will still
work.) Of course, you must have previously purchased the
electronic edition of The Book of Eldritch Might
for the upgrade to work.
Important: If you bought The Book of Eldritch
Might on or after January 22, 2004, you DO NOT need
this upgrade.
USING THE UPGRADE:
1. Make sure you have a backup copy of your original PDF
file.
2. Make sure you have the most recent prior version of The
Book of Eldritch Might, or the upgrade will not work.
To get the most recent prior version, you must have purchased
your copy of the PDF after November 21, 2002, or have run
a prior free patch. For these free patches*, see below.
3. Go to our online
catalog to buy the upgrade. Proceed through checkout
there, then download it from the link provided.
4. Unzip/run the upgrade.
* Free
patches (below) corrected errata points, updated the layout,
added sections from this website, and fixed typographical
errors.
The
3.5 upgrade is for the revised version of "Book of
Eldritch Might" dated 11/18/02; 3216962 bytes
Verify on back cover: "PDF Version 3.0 November 21,
2002"
This is the most recent previous version of the book.
After
the update, the file should have the following properties:
On back cover: "PDF Version 4.0 January 22, 2004"
In the PDF Properties tab: Modified January 18, 2004
File size: 3,318,969 bytes

Note: This upgrade updates only the rules of the original
PDF edition of the book to v.3.5 of the d20 System. It does
not contain additional artwork or entirely new sections.
Guidelines on using Eldritch Might rules with Monte Cook's
Arcana Unearthed are found only in The
Complete Book of Eldritch Might.

You
must use the Update 3 patch if you want to use the 3.5 upgrade
described above and you downloaded the book between November
13, 2001 and November 21, 2002 -- or if you downloaded the
book earlier than November 13, 2001, but you've already

bought the book before November 13, 2001, use the Update
2 patch for Windows (below) before downloading the Update
3 patch. If you downloaded the book after November 21, 2002,

Older
Free Patches: Update 2
The
BoEM Update2 patch (.hqx for Macs and .zip for PCs) is specifically
for those of you using Acrobat Reader 5.0. If you remember,
we had trouble getting that version of Reader to display
our header fonts. This patch fixes that, puts in bookmarks
that can be seen in 5.0, and fixes a couple of other (extremely
minor) errors.
You
must use the Update 2 patch for Windows if you want to use
the Update 3 patch described above and you downloaded the
book between June 16, 2001 and November 13, 2001 -- or if
you downloaded the book earlier than June 16 but you've
already used one of the older patches (see "Original
Free Patches," below). If you downloaded the book after
November 13, 2001, go straight to the Update 3 patch available
above.

release of the book to the revised version. They overwrite
your copy of The Book of Eldritch Might PDF with
the early errata and a few other changes.

book before June 16, 2001 and want to use the Update 2 patch
(above). If you downloaded the book between June 16, 2001
and November 13, 2001, or have already used one of these
earlier patches below, go straight to the Update 2 patch
above. Before you download one of these older patches, you
need to know when you downloaded the PDF.
